The L.A.R.C.G (Latin American renal cancer group) is a group of scientific and educational, multicentric, multidisciplinary and independent. It is not for profit, and the term of operation is indeterminate. It consists of Urologists, Pathologists and Oncologists, as well as professionals and researchers related to the field of health, belonging to Hospitals in Latin America, Spain and the United States.
General: Establish a database on Renal Cancer, which allows us to define regional characteristics: epidemiological, clinical, pathological, molecular and genetic. Specifics: Investigation of renal cancer in its broadest term, by searching for more accurate and reproducible tumor markers, for diagnostic purposes, prognosis and response to treatment. Explore and develop more effective therapeutic alternatives, with a high level of scientific evidence.– Investigate risk factors and develop measures of prevention of renal cancer – To promote the teaching of renal cancer, in collaboration with public and private university institutions.

The LARCG is constituted by a Coordinating Group, Scientific Committee, Ethics Committee and Member Council. Urologists in the LARCG are called “LARCG Members”. Within each Hospital there will be a multidisciplinary team composed of urologists, pathologists and oncologists, called the pathological arm “LARCG-Pathology” and the oncology arm “LARCG-Oncology”. Each team has as leader a Urologist, including within its functions: forming the multidisciplinary team, establishing the tasks of its members and coordinating the research work arising from the team under its responsibility.
